The Beginning: Why and how I learned to cook!!!!

Hello everyone!!!! A big welcome to my first blog of The Tulip Project. Now it has been my dream for a long time to start a blog and to tell you the truth, I did start writing it a couple of times; but eventually could not dedicate time to it. But this time I am determined to sincerely devout my time to it, and what better day to start it than today, March 8, the International Women’s day. So wish me luck, because God knows, I NEED IT !!! 😉

So my first blog is going to be kind of introduction about me!! I am a big foodie, a teacher, a homemaker and an okay-ish cook! I got married recently ( 1 year and 20 days to be exact :)) to the love of my life. I teach high school Biology and I LOVE MY JOB. Yesss – I actually do and also I love to work with my students on different interesting projects. And That’s pretty much everything about me. Pretty average lifestyle you can see but I enjoy every bit of it☺☺.

Okay, now why did I call myself an okay-ish cook?? Well that’s because if you are living in a PG (like I used to do), there comes a point in your life when you realize you have to learn how to do a little cooking. I mean yes you can have takeouts or home deliver food, but eventually you will get bored of those. Trust me guys, been there done that. I mean there was literally a time in my life when I could tell you the menu and their prices of all my local food joints in a jiffy. But that was not going to work for long.

So when I gained near about 10 odd kilos, I decided that now I need to stop eating junk, and COOK!!!!! I still remember the first dish I cooked, it was chicken curry in an ELECTRIC COOKER!! YES…. an electric cooker, that too borrowed from my roommate😆. And the whole time my husband (then My boyfriend) was on the phone. We had that “Aircel to Aircel unlimited to One number at Rs. 70” wala tariff plan at that point of time😂😂. So it was the most convenient source of communication for us. And I just realised that we were a couple before Whatsapp became “The Thing”. Yes world, we made a long distance relationship work WITHOUT WHATSAPP. By the way did I mention, my Husband is an AMAZING cook, and my cooking guru as well as my biggest critic 😆.

So that’s all for my first blog. Guys I really hope you like it and enjoy reading through it. It is my first dedicated try to start something good for myself and I am hoping to make a few friends by sharing our stories.

So guys do tell me what was your first dish that you cooked and also who was your first cooking instructor. Do comment and share!! Love you all and see you really soon. ☺☺
